Have you ever felt like the odd one out?

Ever wondered why the people around you don't see life the same as you? It's just like that glass half full/empty theory right?

I grew up being the odd one out - I always thought it was just because we moved home and schools so many times that I just didn't ever fit in........Now I know, it's because I'm not designed to 'fit in'......I'm designed to be a 'unique being having a human experience' - as Wayne Dyer once put it.

So many of us go through life with the same 'recipe':

- go to school
- get a job
- get married
- have children
- retire

Whilst this may be the 'general' recipe, there are so many interpretations!

I remember sitting with friends many years ago when we were all starting our families, and asking what they see for their future - their answer 'sitting on a verandah in rocking chairs watching grandchildren'. I found myself over the course of the next few weeks wondering why I didn't see that as my future. Why wasn't I 'normal' in that vision?

What I now know is, that I personally don't fit into the 'normal' recipe. My recipe is one of experiences, adventures, leaving a legacy for my children, and yes of course family is factored into that, however, I want them to see me live my life enjoying every single second, with them being inspired to create and live their own unique lives as they grow.

So, if you are a person who often feels like the odd one out or gets labeled as 'should be more like this'.......then take comfort in knowing that your uniqueness is what makes you 'the norm'.

Some people talk to me about not being where their peers are in business. Yes, I've been in that thought process too in the past, however, I quickly flicked that mindset switch and realised, that is simply 'comparisonitis'......again there is no norm in business!

I had someone come to me recently to say 'this person says I should be more ahead in my business by now'........my reply.....who are they to say where you should be?

Do they know your circumstances?

Do they know your challenges?

Do they know how incredibly hard you have been working to get as far as you have now?

Why give them the power to then deflate you and everything you have achieved with their own perception of 'the norm'.....so to you I say:

Don’t just exist in a life others demonstrate as the ‘norm’. You weren’t designed to fit a mold. You were designed to be unique. LIVE your life!
